“Saturday Night Live” and “Ghostbusters 2″ star Leslie Jones — guesting on Thursday’s “Late Night” — addressed her recent public run-in with Twitter trolls comparing her to a gorilla.

“First of all, let me let everybody know that I did not leave Twitter,” Jones clarified. “I just signed out ’cause I wanted to deal with what was going on.”

“What’s scary about the whole thing is that the insults didn’t hurt me. Unfortunately, I’m used to the insults,” she added. “But what scared me was the injustice of a gang of people jumping against you for such a sick cause.”

Jones said Facebook was quick to penalize offensive users, whose accounts are inherently less anonymous. Twitter, on the other hand, she had to hound until it took care of the trolls.

She offered a metaphor: “That’s my favorite restaurant. I love the food there. Three people just got shot in front of me. Y’all need to get some security!”

Meyers ran an assortment of clips of anti-trolls (otherwise known as fans) lending support and admiration for Jones, who responded, “You know I’m not going nowhere.”
